The agreement between us

Terms & Conditions

What you can expect from us, what we ask of you, and how money, scheduling and cancellation work. Written to be read, not skimmed past.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

AyahLink Academy ("we", "us") provides live, one-to-one online Quran and Islamic studies classes over video call. These terms apply to everyone who books a trial or enrols with us, and to the parent or guardian who books on behalf of a child.

By booking a class you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not book. We may update them from time to time; the date at the top of this page shows the latest version, and continuing to take classes after a change means you accept it.

2. The free trial

Every new student is offered three free one-to-one classes with the teacher who would go on to teach them. No payment details are taken to book the trial.

The trial is for genuine prospective students. We may decline or end a trial if it is being used for another purpose, or if a student has already had a trial with us.

After the third class the teacher will tell you where the student is starting from and what the first month would look like. You then decide whether to continue. If you do not, nothing is owed and nothing needs cancelling.

3. Tuition and payment

Standard tuition is US$50 per month for one student taking three classes a week, or US$70 for five classes a week. A second child in the same family is 20% off and a third is 30% off. Families in countries we designate as reduced-rate pay US$30 per month. The current figures are always shown on the pricing page and in the calculator, which take precedence over any figure quoted elsewhere.

Tuition is billed monthly in advance, in US dollars. Prices shown in other currencies are a guide; the exact amount you pay depends on your bank's exchange rate and any fees it charges. We do not charge a registration fee, and there is no minimum term or contract.

We will tell you at least one month before any change to your tuition. If you do not want to continue at the new rate, you can stop at the end of the current month.

If a payment is late, we will remind you before pausing classes. We do not charge late fees.

4. Scheduling, missed classes and rescheduling

Class times are agreed directly with your teacher in your local time zone. Classes are 30 minutes unless otherwise agreed.

If you need to move or miss a class, tell us as early as you can — ideally the day before. A class cancelled with reasonable notice is rescheduled, not lost, and there is no fee for rescheduling.

If a student does not join within 15 minutes of the start time without notice, the class may be counted as taken. We apply this with common sense: a child who is unwell, or a family emergency, is not a no-show.

If your teacher has to cancel, the class is always rescheduled or credited. Where a teacher is unavailable for a longer period we will offer the other teacher or pause billing.

You may pause enrolment — for exams, Ramadan, travel or any other reason — by telling us before the next billing date. We will hold your time slot where we can, but cannot guarantee it during a long pause.

5. Cancelling

You can stop at any time by messaging us on WhatsApp or by email. Enrolment ends at the end of the month already paid for; we do not charge a cancellation fee.

Because tuition is paid monthly in advance, we do not normally refund part-months. If we have failed to deliver classes you paid for and could not reschedule them, we will refund those classes in full.

We may end an enrolment ourselves where these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached, or where we honestly believe we are not the right fit for a student. In that case any classes paid for but not delivered are refunded.

6. Classes, conduct and safeguarding

Classes take place on Zoom or Google Meet. You are responsible for a device with a working camera and microphone and a stable internet connection.

Parents and guardians are welcome to sit in on any class, announced or not. For students under 12 we recommend an adult is nearby during the first week.

We expect ordinary courtesy from everyone in a class — students, parents and teachers alike. Abuse, harassment or repeated disruption may lead us to end an enrolment.

Teachers do not contact students privately outside the agreed class channel; all scheduling and messages go through the academy's WhatsApp number or email. If anything about a teacher's conduct concerns you, please tell us immediately.

We do not record classes. If you would like to record a class for your own child's revision, tell the teacher first; recordings must not be shared publicly.

7. Materials and intellectual property

Lesson plans, worksheets, syllabus documents and other materials we provide are for the enrolled student's personal use. Please do not republish, resell or share them.

The text, design, images and code of this website belong to us or our licensors. You may link to any page freely.

8. What we do and do not promise

We promise live, one-to-one teaching by the named teachers on this site, honest progress feedback, and to tell you plainly if we think we are not the right fit.

We do not promise a particular outcome — how far a student progresses depends on their age, starting point, and practice between classes. We do not issue formal Ijazah or Sanad certification.

We rely on third-party services (video calling, internet providers, payment providers) that we do not control. We are not responsible for interruptions caused by them, but we will always reschedule a class lost to a technical problem on either side.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or our classes is limited to the tuition you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Governing law and disputes

If something goes wrong, please tell us first — most problems are solved with one conversation on WhatsApp. If we cannot resolve it between us, these terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the academy is established, and its courts have jurisdiction. Nothing here affects any consumer rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
